Children’s Show Benefit: A Letter from Jenny

My name is Jenny Zisette.  I am 15 and a sophomore at South Whidbey High School.  But, my first school was the South Whidbey Co-op Preschool.  My family moved to the island 11 years ago and my brother, sister and I all attended the Co-op.  My mom is currently one of the parent educators, along with Mully Mullally. The Co-op had, and still has, a very strong impact on my life.  The Co-op has been in operation for 41 years and has served more than 1000 families.  This year the Co-op, like many other non-profit organizations, has handed out more scholarships than ever before.  Their budget has been stretched to it’s limit.  In order for the Co-op to stay open for the rest of the year, and continue serving the families that are enrolled, they need to raise $7,000.

The preschool will be holding a benefit fundraiser on January 30th at Whidbey Children’s Theatre. This will include a children’s show at 2:00pm, and an adult show at 7:30pm.  I am actively a part of Whidbey Children’s Theatre, and acting is my main hobby.  So, fellow alumni/ae and other community members are putting on a show for the South Whidbey Co-op.

 We need YOUR help:)

There are many ways you can help.

 1.  Come Perform with us. Just send an email to me (jennyzisette@gmail.com) or Terri (terri_hawkins@yahoo.com) and we will sign you up for a spot in the show.   Alumni/ae and their friends are all more than welcome. If you can sing, dance, recite poetry, juggle or play an instruments, please join us. The sky’s the limit.

 2.  Make a donation:  Send your donation to PO Box 713, Langley, WA 98260.

 3.  Forward this page/information on to other alumni/ae, or others who you think would be interested or willing to help.

 4.   Shop online with One Cause. http://www.onecause.com/schools/south-whidbey-co-op-preschool

 5.  Simply Come To The Show:  Tickets will be $10 for the 2pm show and $15 for the evening show.

 6.  If you are feeling very generous, you can be one of the few community members to provide a matching grant for a portion of the evening.  You could match our concession sales, our auction sales, our ticket sales, or any portion of the evening you would like. Please contact Terri Hawkins if you are interested – terri_hawkins@yahoo.com or call 579-3045.

There will be auction items and student art to purchase at the show as well.

I know the Co-op has made a difference in my life, and I hope to see it around to make a difference for years to come.

 Thank You

Jenny Zisette
