We are a fun and busy school that prides itself in family involvement.
At South Whidbey Co-operative Preschool, our mission is to provide a developmentally appropriate program in a nurturing, loving, safe and stimulating environment in which parental involvement enriches the learning process. In fact, that is our mission statement.
To that end, our classroom has space to read books, build with blocks and toys, explore our world, play pretend, dress-up and get messy with art. We use a HighScope Curriculum. We sing songs, run and climb on the playground, imagine, create and discover new things. As the year progresses, the children gain self-confidence and develop skills which prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond.
We believe family involvement is essential to the education process. Parents assist in the classroom and manage the business of the Co-op. More than that, Parents get to experience their child’s growth first-hand. When assisting in the classroom, many parents have almost as much fun as the children do.
We are affordable! Because the parents help the teacher in the classroom, as well as manage the school, our tuition is very low. Considering we meet 3 days/week at 4 hours per day, the cost/hour is extremely low: approximately $2.5/hour!**current as of February 6, 2014, tuition subject to change.
We still have some openings for the 2013-2014 school year!
